To blog or not to blog……

To blog or not to blog……

Everyone seems to have a blog in this day and age. The bandwagon is here so I’m jumping on for the ride.  After all, it’s about the journey not the destination right?

8 months ago I was sat in a maternity ward loosing my mind after a hideous amount of admissions due to Hyperemesis Gravidarum  (HG). Yes that’s right the thing people always refer to as bad morning sickness or ‘that thing that Kate Middleton had’. Referring to HG as bad morning sickness is like calling Tuberculosis (TB) a cough. Anyway that’s another story for another blog post if this lasts longer than just this post!

While I was there I met a woman who was also heavily pregnant and was there for an induction.  During the few days we had together we had lots of chat and so much support for each other.  I do feel that we were each other’s life lines to sanity at that time.

During our time together she started to tell me about her Instagram page and how she began the page to keep a record of her family and that it had developed into a successful page and blog.  When I stalked her on social media and realised that it wasn’t just a successful Instagram account and blog, it was awesome and she had over 35 thousand followers!!!!! Gobsmacked!!!

The encouragement I had from her to start an Instagram account of my own to record my children and our experiences as a family hit home.  I could really see the benefits of this as we forget so so much. I have had an Instagram account now for 6ish months and  I am enjoying the interaction, feedback and the knowledge that I’m recording what I think is important to me and my family.  Those special moments that you think you will never forget, but you do because your human and replace them with other amazing memories.

So after a chat with that lovely lady again today she’s given me the courage to start a blog.

So why not??

Here it is……

To be continued…….
